The member representing Lavun, Mokwa and Edati Constituency, Niger State, Hon. (Dr.) Joshua Audu Gana, has reiterated his desire to support in entirety any framework that will propel and act as a catalyst towards repositioning lives of his constituents.
In a document titled: *“MY GREEN CHAMBER AGENDA: Inclusion 2023-2027, In Partnership with the People; MY LEGISLATIVE CONTRACT”* Hon. Gana, rightly noted that the Lavun, Mokwa and Edati area of Niger State with an estimated population of 204,335 is an agrarian community that cross-cuts into pottery and mining hence utmost priority will be placed on proposing a bill for the creation of an Export Processing Zones (EPZ) in the State that will promote exports and foster industrial development. These when realised Gana opined will act as a catalyst to economic growth, employment generation and trade diversification for his people.
Outlining his intent, the Honourable Member stated that his legislative theme: *“People Matter More Than Things”* will take into perspective proposing and supporting bills that will economically empower his immediate community and the country at large.
Notable amongst his ideals to bring government closer to the Lavun, Mokwa and Edati people, Gana ascribed supporting legislation on Infrastructural development, increased budgetary allocation to agriculture for development of modern farming technique, support creation of an enabling environment for the manufacturing sector through encouraging local production while also providing tax incentives for manufacturers.
Informing of his willingness to serve and impact meaningful legislation, Hon. Gana assured that views and interests of the people will be considered as he would establish constituency offices in the three (3) Local Government Areas with each to be headed by a legislative liaison officer.
According to him, this will ensure and facilitate direct connection with their representative while also serving as an information collection point for his constituents.
