Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State through the Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked for the removal of the state resident electoral commissioner (REC), Bar Hudu Yunusa Ari.
The deputy director-general (South) of the Adamawa PDP Campaign Council Mr Filex Tangwami, alleged that the REC was heard in a leaked audio passing an “order from above” to the returning electoral officer for the governorship election in Fufore local government area to produce results to favour the APC governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Ahmed Binani.
Tangwami also alleged that, the REC had forwarded additional polling units to INEC against the 69 for the rerun elections, earlier, declared inconclusive in the state
The action of the REC he stated culminated in the publishing of fake results which fooled the whole world into believing that Binani had won the election when collation had not been completed.
He urged INEC to investigate the REC and to remove him from Adamawa State “as we have lost confidence in him as an umpire because he is no longer independen
